Police Reveal Initial Allegation Of Grandma's Murder Case In Malang, Allegedly Her Granddaughter Was The Perpetrator Who Was Treated For Injury

MALANG - The Malang Resort Police (Polres) has revealed an initial suspicion of the murder of a grandmother with the initials W (70) in Manggisari Hamlet, Bocek Village, Karangploso District, Malang Regency, East Java.

Malang Police Chief AKBP Ferli Hidayat said that until now the investigators have not named a suspect. However, based on a number of evidences, MS (18), who is the victim's grandson, is suspected of being the perpetrator of the murder.

"We haven't named a suspect yet, but the indications are that (the perpetrator is the victim's grandson)," said Ferli, quoted by Antara, Monday, June 20.

Ferli explained that the suspect in the W murder case had not been determined because the key witness, MS, was still undergoing treatment at the hospital and could not be questioned.

According to him, MS's condition is stable but the team of doctors who treat W's grandson has not allowed the officers to ask for information. MS is a key witness in the W murder case.

"Right now, the victim's grandson is still in the hospital and his condition is stable. But we still cannot be questioned. We need MS's statement to determine the suspect in this case," he said.

Regarding the motive for the 70-year-old grandmother's murder, investigators are still investigating. Based on the results of the examination of other witnesses, it is known that MS and W often quarrel.

"Based on the testimony of other witnesses, it is true that the grandson and grandmother often quarrel. The grandson is often scolded by his grandmother," he said.

Based on the testimony of another witness, he continued, almost every night MS was scolded by the grandmother who was the victim of the murder. He asked the public to be a little patient so that investigators get strong evidence and immediately identify the suspect in the case.

"But again, we cannot make a conclusion without being supported by evidence. Please be patient a little longer, waiting for the testimony of key witnesses," he said.

Previously, on Tuesday (7/6) a resident of RT04/06, Manggisari Hamlet, Bocek Village, Karangploso District, found W and his grandson, MS, suffered serious injuries in a house in the area.

In that incident, W died at the scene, while MS had asked local residents for help despite suffering injuries to his neck and stomach. MS was then taken to a nearby hospital for treatment before being referred to Saiful Anwar Hospital.

Currently, MS is still undergoing treatment at the Saiful Anwar Regional General Hospital, Malang City.
