Next Month, A Number Of Schools In Solo Will Enter

JAKARTA - A number of junior high schools (SMP) in Solo City will immediately implement face-to-face learning (PTM) according to the direction of the Surakarta City Government.

"Yes, it starts in November (for several junior high schools, red.). Later on November 2, the teachers will be swab (swab test) first, after that only the students who want the school will be swab at school," said Mayor of Surakarta FX. Hadi Rudyatmo in Solo, reported by Antara, Tuesday, October 27.

He said that for the first stage, the swab test would be carried out on 140 students from SMPN 4 Surakarta, while for the teachers who took the swab test as many as 65 people.

"Then we will wait for 14 days, if later there is no progress, because the DKK (City Health Office) asked for two weeks, after two weeks new people will be swab again," he said.

He said there were three schools designated as pilot face-to-face learning in Solo, namely SMPN 4 Surakarta, SMP Al Azhar Syifa Budi, and MTsN 1 Surakarta.

"The three schools swab. For SMA, let the province. Later, if there is no cluster, it means that no one is exposed to these school children," he said.

According to him, later face-to-face learning for SMP in Solo could not be implemented 100 percent, but there were restrictions, namely 50 percent online and 50 percent face-to-face.

For this PTM, he said, while it was only applied to grade IX students.

Principal of SMPN 4 Surakarta Sri Wuryanti said the school had conducted socialization regarding the plan to open face-to-face schools to parents of students.

"We have also prepared an SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for handling COVID-19 for students, including handling if a student has a fever and coughs while in class," he said.
