Up The Podium Again In F1, Lewis Hamilton Warns Mercedes To Be Careful Experimenting
JAKARTA – Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton won his second podium in Formula 1 2022 after finishing third in the Canadian Grand Prix race. He was behind Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Montreal, Canada, on Monday, June 20 early morning WIB.
This result makes his sense of Mercedes in the rest of the season even greater. He was sure, Mercedes would get up soon.
"This gives me a lot of hope that there is more to be given from this car. The potential is really there if we can get the set-up right," said Hamilton, reported by BBC Sport.
Prior to his third podium finish in Montreal, Hamilton had always lost to teammate George Russell. He also never finished ahead of Russell after Bahrain.
Hamilton said that in the future the team must be more careful in conducting experiments on their cars. Excessive experimentation could potentially hinder Mercedes in the championship competition with Ferrari and Red Bull.
"There's a lot to learn from this weekend and improvements we can make going forward, but the pace was really good today. Very nice to see. That's not always the case with this car," he said.
Hamilton, who has seven world titles, is currently sixth in the standings. He has just collected 77 points from nine series that have taken place.
The two top positions are currently still occupied by the Red Bull driver duo Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez with a collection of 175 and 129 points, respectively. Both were followed by Ferrari's Charles Leclerc with 126 points.
