Sara Duterte Carpio, Daughter Of President Rodrigo Duterte Inaugurated As Vice President Of The Philippines

JAKARTA - Sara Duterte Carpio, daughter of outgoing Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, was sworn in as the country's 15th vice president on Sunday, calling for national unity following a divisive election campaign.

"The days ahead may be filled with challenges that will make us more united as a nation," he said in his inaugural address in his hometown of Davao as quoted by Antara, where he took the oath of office with his parents by his side.

Duterte-Carpio, 44, is the running mate of Ferdinand Marcos Jr or Bongbong Marcos, who also won the May 9 election and will be sworn in as the country's president on June 30. Their reign of 6 years will begin.
