The Rampant Of Bicycle Handling Until TNI Officers Become Victims, Police Mapping Hotspots In DKI
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has mapped several crime-prone spots for cyclists. One of them is along Jalan MH Thamrin to the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta.
"Mapped which locations are prone to robbery, for example in Sudirman, and crowded places, from Thamrin to Monas, then other roads," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Tuesday, October 27.
Mapping these hot spots is a follow-up to the rampant cyclist action. Within one month there were 7 cases of fraud.
"At the end of October, bicycle robbers were rampant, if I'm not mistaken, 7 crime scenes, one was revealed in Central Jakarta, with 3 (people) being secured," said Yusri.
Later, personnel in full uniform or dress will be alerted to these vulnerable points. It was also suggested that residents do not ride alone.
"We hope that bicycle users do not provoke these actors, for example, while cycling selfies using cellphones, carrying items, if you can find something safe, put your cellphone in your pocket too," he said.
As previously reported, the last time that a bicycle steal would befall a TNI officer on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta, Monday, October 26. The police are currently still hunting for the perpetrators.
