Jayapura Prosecutor's Office Investigate Allegations Of Corruption In The Construction Of The Trimuris-Kasonawejo Mamberamo Road
JAYAPURA - The Jayapura District Prosecutor's Office (Kejari) is investigating allegations of corruption in road construction on the Trimuris-Kasonaweja road section, Mamberamo Raya Regency, Papua.
Investigators have escalated the case to an investigation related to allegations of corruption within the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning of the Mamberamo Raya Regency in 2019.
The status increase was based on the Investigation Letter of the Head of the Jayapura District Attorney's Office Number Print 01/R. 1.10/Fd. 1/06/2013 dated June 13, 2022, which previously carried out investigations and examinations of 10 witnesses.
Jayapura Kejari Alek Sinuraya explained that the construction of the 3.5 km-long Trimuris-Kasonaweja road segment was budgeted at IDR 6,188,736,000 sourced from special allocation funds (DAK) carried out by CV PIP.
In carrying out its work, the company that won the auction did not carry out the work according to the contract, including only cleaning along 950 meters.
"Although the work carried out is not in accordance with the contract, CV PIP has already disbursed," said Sinuraya.
The former Aspidsus Prosecutor of the Papuan Prosecutor's Office stated that by raising the case to investigation, a suspect would be named in the near future.
"Hopefully the investigators will soon reveal the suspect in the case," said Jayapura Kejari Alek Sinuraya, quoted by Antara, Friday, June 17.
The Jayapura Kejari oversees five districts and cities in Papua, namely Jayapura City and District, Keerom, Sarmi, and Mamberamo Raya District.
