Betawi Artists Haji Bokir And Mpok Nori Become Street Names In East Jakarta
JAKARTA – The names of two public figures as well as Betawi artists Haji Bokir and Mpok Nori are used as street names in East Jakarta. Head of East Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-dept., Benhard Hutajulu, said Jalan Haji Bokir bin Dji'un has now replaced the name Jalan Raya Pondok Gede in Kramat Jati District.
"The Pondok Gede Highway segment for the Pinang Ranti and Dukuh sub-districts has become H. Bokir bin Dji'un," said Benhard, Friday, June 17.
The nameplate of Jalan Haji Bokir bin Dji'un has been installed replacing the name Jalan Raya Pondok Gede with the starting point from the intersection of Jalan Raya Bogor or the Hek T-junction to the red light intersection of Tamini Square.
Meanwhile, the Jalan Mpok Nori signboard has also been installed to replace the name Jalan Raya Bambu Apus, Bambu Apus Village, Cipayung District.
Benhard said that in the East Jakarta area, there are five street names that have changed from the names of figures to freedom fighters.
In addition to the names Mpok Nori and Haji Bokir, there are also Haji Darip, Entong Fat and Rama Ratu Jaya which are also used as street names.
Benhard explained, Jalan Haji Darip starts from the starting point of Jalan Raya Bekasi to the intersection of Jalan Jenderal Ahmad Yani.
For Jalan Entong Gendut, it is determined from the starting point of the intersection of Jalan Batu Ampar I to the end point of the intersection of Jalan Raya Condet.
Meanwhile, the name Rama Ratu Jaya replaces the name of Jalan BKT on the west side from the starting point of the intersection of Jalan Milling to Jalan Raya Damai.
"Haji Darip is set to be the name of a road previously known as Jalan Bekasi Timur Raya. Entong Gendut is the name of a road previously known as Jalan Budaya, Condet," he said.
