Protested Fines For Refusing Vaccination In DKI, PKS: Anies Must Socialize

JAKARTA - Jakarta DPRD PKS Faction Chairperson Arifin asked DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to socialize the rules to a fine of IDR 5 million for residents who refuse COVID-19 vaccination.

The reason is that Arifin considered that many people refused the nominal fine for those who refused the vaccination. Because, the vaccine for COVID-19 is considered still in the testing phase. Not to mention related to the issue of the halal substance of the vaccine.

This fine is stated in the draft regional regulation (perda) to deal with the COVID-19 DKI which has just been passed but is not yet valid.

"We hope that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will provide good and massive socialization regarding the regulations in this regional regulation. Some people think that the penalty threat is too high," Arifin told reporters, Tuesday, October 27.

Arifin also asked the Jakarta Governor to immediately make a derivative regulation in the form of a governor's regulation that provides technical provisions regarding fines for residents who refuse vaccination.

According to him, in total there will be 17 governor regulations or other derivative regulations that will regulate in more detail and technically every regulation in the perda, including arrangements for social assistance, PSBB and vaccinations when available.

"We hope that the DKI Provincial Government will provide a clear explanation about this vaccine, before the administration of vaccines in Jakarta will begin in accordance with the provisions made by the central government," he said.

For information, the COVID-19 regional regulation contains 11 chapters and 35 articles. In it, regulates the provisions, responsibilities, sanctions, and authorities of local governments during the handling of COVID-19.

In Article 29, everyone who deliberately refuses to carry out a reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) or molecular rapid test, and / or supporting examinations conducted by the Provincial Government

Meanwhile in Article 30, every person who deliberately refuses to receive treatment and / or vaccination for COVID-19, will be punished with a maximum fine of Rp. 5 million.

In Article 31, every person who deliberately without permission brings a corpse with probable status or confirmation in a health facility, will be punished with a maximum fine of Rp. 5 million.

Then, if the person forcibly carrying the body is accompanied by threats and / or violence, the punishment will be a maximum fine of Rp7.5 million.

Meanwhile, Article 32 states that every person with COVID-19 who deliberately leaves an isolation facility or health facility without the official's permission, will be punished with a maximum fine of IDR 5 million.
