Golden State Warriors Win NBA Again, Stephen Curry Becomes Final MVP
JAKARTA - The Golden State Warriors won the 2021-2022 NBA. The championship ring was won after defeating the Boston Celtics 103-90 in the sixth game of the NBA Finals, Friday, June 17, WIB.
This victory made the Warriors end the final in the best of seven format at 4-2. This is the seventh NBA Warriors trophy in their participation.
The Warriors last won in 2018. At that time, Steven Kerr's fleet defeated the Houston Rockets 4-3 in the final.
This championship trophy is complemented by the NBA Finals Player of the Year award, which was won by Stephen Curry. In the last game, Curry led the points with 34 points, seven assists and seven rebounds.
"I'm so proud of our team. At the start of the season no one thought we'd be here except everyone on this court," said an emotional Curry after winning another NBA title.
This victory was a remarkable comeback for the Warriors after missing the playoffs for the last two seasons due to injuries to many of their players.
They beat the Boston Celtics after ending the Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks in their bid to reclaim the Larry O'Brien trophy.
"We were a long way from that," Curry said. "We've hit rock bottom with injuries and a long road ahead of us and we're trying to fill in the right positions and the right people."
"You can never take this for granted because you never know when you will come back here," he said.
