Ministry Of Trade Calls Dozens Of Islamic Khilafatul Islamic Boarding Schools Illegal, Not According To The Law
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) stated,. dozens of Islamic boarding schools belonging to the Khilafatul Muslimin organization are illegal because they are not licensed. In fact, it does not meet the requirements related to its establishment. Khilafatul Muslimin builds and operates a pesantren under the name Ukhuwah Islamiyah.
"Thus, ukhuwah Islamiyah does not have a registered permit," said Head of the Ministry of Religion's Technology Development and Learning Young Expert, Ahmad Rusdi, to reporters, Thursday, June 16.
The boarding school is not licensed because in the process of its establishment it is not in accordance with the Pesantren Law or Law number 18 of 2019 and also PMA number 30 of 2020
Because, in the rules, all pesantren must adhere to the principle of nationality. However, the Muslim Khilafah did not apply it.
"If we open the Law on Islamic Boarding Schools there is a principle of nationality. And also the principle of its establishment is to have a commitment to Islam rahamatn lil alamin and a commitment to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia Pancasila," said Ahmad.
"There is no Pancasila in the khilafatul Muslimin. Therefore, we emphasize that ukhuwah Islamiyah does not fall into the category of Islamic boarding schools," he continued.
On the previous occasion, the Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Hengki Haryadi, said that Khilafatul Muslimin has a foundation or educational institution. At least, there are 31 schools that teach the concept of the caliphate and are not in accordance with the national education system.
"They have 25 Islamic boarding schools, while yes. However, if you count the units because there are levels, they consist of 31," said Hengki.
