Corruption Court Tries Case For Regent Of Bursel's Bribery Collector

AMBON - The Ambon Corruption Court (Tipikor) held an initial trial for the defendant Johny Rynhard Kasman whose account was allegedly used to collect bribes and gratuities from the former South Buru (Bursel) Regent Tagop Sudarsono Soulisa. The trial, which was held in Ambon, Thursday, June 16, was led by the Chief Judge of the Corruption Eradication Committee, Nanang Zulkarnain Faizal, accompanied by Jenny Tulak and Anthonius Sampe Sammine as member judges, with the agenda of listening to the reading of the indictment of the KPK Public Prosecutor, Taufiq Ibnugroho and his friends. The court room did not use legal counsel, so the Corruption Eradication Committee appointed Herbert Dadiara from one of the legal aid agencies to provide assistance. The Public Prosecutor explained that Tagop Soulisa had received bribes and gratuities from a number of colleagues while serving as Regent of South Bursel from 2011 to 2021. The money transferred through the account of defendant Johny at Bank Centra Asia. "The amount of the transfer amounted to Rp. 14.9 billion from partners or contractors in South Buru Regency through the account of defendant Johny Kasman," explained the KPK prosecutor, quoted by Antara. On the indictment of the KPK Prosecutor Team, the defendant's legal advisor Herberth Dadiara stated that he did not make an exception, so the panel of judges postponed the trial until next week with the agenda of examining witnesses.
