Approaching Retirement, Risma Happy And Sorrow Story Of Becoming The Mayor Of Surabaya
SURABAYA - The Mayor of Surabaya, Tri Rismaharini (Risma), told of his journey to lead Surabaya for two periods. Various sweet and bitter experiences are told before his term ends in 2020.
Initially, Risma told of the various problems she faced when she took office, ranging from flood problems to social problems that occurred at that time. The first female mayor in Surabaya also remembers the moment she spent with the ranks of the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) in solving problems.
In addition, Risma remembers very well that in her first year of leadership, Mayor Risma promised to make Surabaya known in the world through a series of changes in progress.
"I have to be able to bring this city to be on the world map. This means that the citizens of the world can understand and know that there is a city called Surabaya. Alhamdhulillah it has been made," said Risma, Monday, October 26.
He explained that he assessed the grief and the various difficulties he had faced during those 10 years. The most urgent thing is Risma's attempt to close Dolly's localization. For Risma, closing the lokalisasi was a tough and risky step. However, along with the courage and support from various parties, he managed to get through.
"Next, during the bombing two years ago. It was a very sad and hard thing for us. I am grateful to be able to go through all of that," he said.
Risma also told a happy story while on duty. He said, if you look at the data, it shows that the poverty rate has dropped significantly. Then the many appreciations and awards that are not only received in the country, but even from abroad can also see the progress of the city.
"Then the air temperature drops, the residents are more friendly. That's what makes foreigners or tourists visit this city. And of course there are many more. We are very grateful that Surabaya is getting better day by day," said Risma.
