At The Indonesian Presidential Palace, Jokowi And The German Federal President Discuss The Russo-Ukrainian War

BOGOR - President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited President Jokowi Widodo (Jokowi). The two discussed the war situation in Ukraine.

"Regarding regional and global issues, we exchange ideas about the situation in Ukraine and Indo-Pacific cooperation," said President Jokowi when giving a press statement with Frank at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, quoted from Antara, Thursday, June 16.

President Jokowi firmly reiterated Indonesia's consistent position regarding the importance of respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity. For this reason, Indonesia emphasizes that international principles and laws must be consistently adhered to.

"And the culture of peace and mutual respect, as well as the spirit of cooperation, need to be strengthened," said Jokowi.

Jokowi encouraged the strengthening of cooperation with Germany to overcome the impact of the Ukraine war, especially on food and energy and related to cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

Jokowi also emphasized to Germany the importance of an inclusive regional architecture, which prioritizes collaboration, not containment, and in the spirit of multilateralism and peace cooperation.
