Newly Inaugurated Ministers And Deputy Ministers Are Urged To Immediately Report Wealth To The KPK

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) appealed to ministers and deputy ministers who had just been inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) today to immediately report their wealth.

Reports are awaited a maximum of three months after they take office.

"As an official who has a strategic function in relation to the administration of the state, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) appeals to report assets no later than three months from the date of appointment," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Prevention Ipi Maryati Kuding in a written statement, Wednesday, June 15.

It is mandatory for state officials to report their assets when they first take office. Moreover, Ipi said that this report is a form of commitment to anti-corruption so it must be done.

"LHKPN is a form of anti-corruption commitment that prioritizes transparency and accountability," said Ipi.

Previously reported, President Jokowi appointed the General Chair of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan and former TNI Commander Hadi Tjahjanto as ministers in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet at the State Palace, Wednesday, June 15.

Zulkifli Hasan is now the Minister of Trade replacing M. Lutfi while Hadi Tjahjanto is the Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning (ATR) of the National Land Agency (BPN).

In addition, Jokowi has three deputy ministers. They are John Wempi Wetipo as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Afriansyah Noor as Deputy Minister of Manpower, and Raja Juli Antoni as Deputy Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN).
