NTT Police Monitors Movement Of Muslim Khilafatul Members In Labuan Bajo

KUPANG - The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police continue to monitor information about the movement of the Khilafatul Muslimin in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency.

"It just so happens that the person lives in Labuan Bajo. But we are still monitoring his movements," said Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police AKBP Arisandy in Kupang, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, June 15.

He ensured the security conditions of the NTT region. The police, including Densus 88, already know members of the Khilafatul Muslimin group.

But stressed AKBP Arisandy, the police cannot make arbitrary arrests if there are no reports or there are no activities that gather people or do something that is contrary to Pancasila.

Previously, the Chairperson of the Regional Leadership for the Ansor Youth Movement of NTT Ajhar Jowe appealed to the people in the island-based province to be aware of the emergence of the hardline group movement Khilafatul Muslimin ahead of the political year.

"Moreover, there are news circulating in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, which is included in the release list of the Khilafathul Muslimin NTT coordinator," he said.

According to him, the government and the National Police as well as other security elements must be aware of this, by not allowing the khilafatul movement in East Nusa Tenggara.

Because continued Ajhar Jowe, the group was not minimized by the authorities, so later it would appear not only in Labuan Bajo but in other areas as well.

"Labuan Bajo is said to be the location as a coordinate point. This means that for the NTT region the center is in Labuan Bajo. Therefore, we hope that all these elements will anticipate, do not let them form in every district," said Ajhar.
