Anies Frees House Land And Building Tax For Under IDR 2 Billion, PSI Calls This The Impact Of The Failure Of The IDR 0 DP House Program

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has issued a policy that eliminates the payment of rural and urban land and building tax (PBB-P2) with a tax object selling value (NJOP) below Rp2 billion.

In response to this, the chairman of the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD views this tax exemption as Anies' way to cover up the failure of the Rp0 DP Rumah program whose residents are still far from the target.

"Mr. Anies at the end of his term felt that he had failed miserably to fulfill the promise of providing decent housing through the 0 percent down payment program so that this was the only thing that could be done. To this day, less than a thousand units have been built, despite the promise that 250,000 units were built during his term of office," said Anggara in his statement, Wednesday, June 15.

After all, according to Anggara, a similar policy is nothing new. This is because Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) while serving as the Governor of DKI has issued a policy of freeing the PBB of houses with NJOP below Rp. 1 billion since 2015.

"There is nothing new about this policy because it has been implemented in the previous leadership period, only the numbers have been changed," he said.

Moreover, Anggara admitted that he was surprised why this policy was only implemented towards the end of Anies' term of office. In fact, according to him, tax relief is more needed by the community at the beginning of the pandemic.

If there is an intention, this policy can be carried out since the beginning of the pandemic. It looks like this is just a sweetener in Pak Anies' injury time," said Anggara.

For information, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan provides incentives for paying rural and urban land and building taxes (PBB-P2). This is stated in the Governor's Regulation Number 23 of 2022.

One of the incentives is in the form of exemption from SPPT PBB 100 percent on residential objects with NJOP below IDR 2 billion.

Meanwhile, PBB with a NJOP of more than IDR 2 billion is given a deduction factor based on the minimum area of land and buildings needed for simple healthy houses, which is 60 square meters for earth and 36 square meters for buildings, and a 10 percent exemption.
