Residents Protest The Rise Of Illegal Parking And Street Vendors, Tebet Eco Park Is Closed Until The End Of June

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has decided to temporarily close the Tebet Eco Park, Tebet, South Jakarta for the next two weeks.

The closure of the city park, which was recently inaugurated by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, was carried out after complaints from local residents about the rise of illegal parking attendants and street vendors who trade without a permit in residential areas around Tebet Eco Park.

In this regard, Anies yesterday summoned the Head of the DKI Parks and Forests Service, Suzi Marsitawati, South Jakarta Mayor Munjirin, Head of Tebet District, Dyan Airlangga, and other ranks of the DKI Provincial Government to DKI City Hall to discuss the chaotic problem of Tebet Eco Park.

When asked by the media after the meeting with Anies, Munjirin admitted that he received directions from Anies to immediately resolve the problems that the residents had complained about. However, he did not want to reveal the directive.

"Earlier, there were instructions from the Governor to clear up all the complaints yesterday. I can't comment yet, I want to meet again tomorrow," said Munjirin when met at City Hall, Tuesday, June 14.
