DPRD Was Still Not Involved When Anies Decided To Extend The Transitional PSBB

JAKARTA - The head of the PDIP faction at the DPRD DKI Gembong Warsono said that the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan did not coordinate with the DPRD when he decided to extend the transitional PSBB period in DKI. The extension of the transitional PSBB takes effect from today for the next two weeks.

In fact, the DPRD has asked Anies to involve the participation of the council by asking for considerations and suggestions before determining the status of restrictions in Jakarta. That is why the DPRD encourages the making of regional regulations (perda) to deal with COVID-19.

"We are not involved in the decision to extend the transitional PSBB. If the regional regulation agreed yesterday, there needs to be a discussion beforehand by the DPRD before deciding. But at this time the regulation is not yet effective," said Gembong to VOI, Monday, October 26.

Therefore, in the decision on the status of restrictions in the next two weeks, Gembong asked the DKI Provincial Government as the executive to ask for advice from the DPRD before determining whether to continue with the transitional PSBB or resume emergency brakes.

Gembong said that the DPRD is a representation of the community. The DPRD's view also comes from the aspirations that are accommodated from residents in each of its constituencies.

"In terms of technically deciding on the PSBB, there needs to be involvement of the board so that together with the executive can bridge the decisions together with the community," said Gembong.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan decided to extend the Transitional Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) from October 26 to November 8. This was done as a precaution against a spike in COVID-19 cases.

Anies said the extension of the Transitional PSBB was due to no significant increase in cases. However, if there is a significant increase in cases, the implementation of this Transitional PSBB can be stopped.

"This means, if there is an alarming level of transmission, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government can stop all activities that have been opened during the PSBB Transition Period and re-implement the tightening," said Anies.

If you look at the movement of the COVID-19 situation in DKI Jakarta in the last two weeks, transmission has been relatively sloping, marked by the average percentage of positive cases in the past week at 9.9% with a test ratio of 5.8 per 1000 population in the last week.

In addition, the average isolation bed fill in the last two weeks tended to decrease from 64 percent on 12 October 2020 to 59 percent on 24 October 2020. The filling of ICU beds also decreased from 68 percent on 12 October 2020 to 62 percent on 24 October 2020.

The COVID-19 control indicator from FKM UI, which had decreased last week, from a score of 60 (18 October 2020) has improved to a score of 64 (24 October 2020). The effective reproductive value which is also an indication of the presence or absence of transmission is at a score of 1.05 (24 October 2020), compared to a score of 1.06 on 12 October 2020.
