Steel Import Case, AGO Checks 5 Officials Of PT IBS

JAKARTA - Investigators of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office have questioned five high-ranking officers of PT Intisource Baja Sakti (IBS) in investigating cases of alleged corruption in the import of iron or steel for the 2016-2021 period.

PT IBS has been named as one of six corporate suspects in the case. The six officials examined were Ryan Laurenzi as Commissioner of PT Intisource Baja Sakti, Rosalinda as President Commissioner, Edward Thejasurya Lim as President Director, Daniel Laurenzi as Director, and Hendra as Director.

"Witness examination is carried out to strengthen evidence and complete the filing," said Head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information, Ketut Sumedana, quoted by Antara in a written statement, Tuesday, June 14.

In addition to five high-ranking PT IBS officials, the prosecutor also examined one witness, namely the Commissioner of PT Duta Sari Sejahtera named Agung Anugrah. PT Duta Sari Sejahtera has also been named a suspect.

In this case, investigators at the Roundabout have named nine suspects, namely three individual suspects and six corporate suspects.

Of the three individual suspects, two of them are private suspects and one is from the Ministry of Trade. The three suspects are Retain Banurea Young Analyst of Import Trade at the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (Dirjen Daglu) of the Ministry of Trade, Taufiq, the manager of PT Meraseti and the founder of PT Meraseti with the initials BHL or Budi Hartono Linardi.

Meanwhile, the other six suspects are importing companies, namely PT Bangun Era Sejahtera, PT Duta Sari Sejahtera, PT Intisource Baja Sakti, PT Jaya Arya Kemuning, PT Perwira Aditama Sejati, and PT Prasasti Metal Utama.
