Mayor Of Bogor Revitalizes Guava Dua Main Market

BOGOR - Bogor Mayor Bima Arya said the government would immediately revitalize the Jambu Dua Main Market this year, following the fire of 15 semi-permanent stalls that occurred Monday (13/6).

“This market is in the planning to be regulated. In essence, this market is no longer feasible, it is very dangerous too, a short circuit can occur at any time. So, we will coordinate the next planning steps here (the Jambu Dua Main Market)," said Bima Arya after visiting the location of the Jambu Dua Main Market fire, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, June 14.

Bima Arya said that the Bogor City Government would see what the plan was and how many traders would occupy it. However, for the time being, traders whose stalls are on fire will be placed in Block B of Jambu Dua Market.

“I want to see what the planning is like. We want it to be revitalized as soon as possible,” he said.

He hopes that in the future, after being revitalized, this market will not only be used by traders from outside the region, but can also be a place for relocating other traders in Bogor City.

"This is idle, well, land that is not used optimally. So, everything will be laid out. Everything that is recorded in the City Government assets will be revitalized and will be built. It should not only exist for existing traders but also be a place for relocation for other traders,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director (Director) of Perumda Pasar Pakuan Jaya (PPJ) Bogor City, Muzakkir, said that 15 stalls were burned and while the trading activities of the kiosk owners would be relocated to the Jambu Dua Market.

Muzakkir considered that Jambu Dua Market was more than 30 years old. In fact, in terms of electricity, the sewers are not feasible and prone to flooding, so improvements must be made immediately.

"God willing, this year (the revitalization process). We are currently in the process of collecting data on how many traders are here, which traders can be combined or entered here. What is certain here is that we have 6,500 (square meters) of land and 7,000 (square meters) of the City Government's land. So there are about 1.3 hectares,” he explained.
