Fire Of 3 Hectares Of Peat Land In Nagan Raya Aceh Has Been Successfully Extinguished

MEULABOH - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh confirmed that three hectares of peatland burned in two separate locations were successfully extinguished.

"Alhamdulillah, the hotspots in the two burning locations have been extinguished, there are no more fires at the scene," said Secretary of BPBD Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh, Said Nazaruddin, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 14.

The locations of the land fires were respectively in Puloe Kruet Village, Darul Makmur District covering an area of two hectares, and Padang Payang Village, Kuala Pesisir District, Nagan Raya Regency, covering an area of one hectare.

Said Nazaruddin said that the fire was extinguished in two separate locations, after his party together with TNI and Polri personnel made efforts to extinguish it from morning to night.

Efforts to extinguish the fire were carried out by officers by deploying five units of water pumping machines to the location of the fire, as a means to obtain water for watering at the location of the fire.

Although they have succeeded in extinguishing the fire, Said Nazaruddin said, his party has so far not known the cause of the peatland fires in two locations in Nagan Raya.

"The fires in both locations have been extinguished, only a small collection of smoke remains at the scene, and it is currently raining," said Said Nazaruddin.
