JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation stated that Matraman Station is ready to carry out operational trials for boarding and dropping passengers on Thursday, June 16.
Matraman Station itself is part of the Manggarai-Cikarang Double-Double Track Mega Project.
Head of the Class I Railway Engineering Center for the Jakarta - Banten Region, Rode Paulus, explained that various technical preparations had been carried out. Completeness of service and security facilities are also ready to be used to support the convenience and comfort of KRL users inside the station.
"Starting Thursday (June 16), we will operate Matraman Station. During the next week, we will conduct operational trials of boarding and dropping passengers from and to Matraman Station," said Rode, in a written statement, Tuesday, June 14.
The station, which was built by the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation since 2016, serves KRL trips across Kampung Bandan-Bekasi/Cikarang.
Rode said a series of preparations for the operation of the Matraman Station had been carried out, in early June the Ministry of Transportation collaboratively with a number of relevant stakeholders including PT. KAI Commuter, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to PT. Transjakarta has carried out joint inspection activities.
Furthermore, Rode explained that this was done to ensure that all facilities inside the station can be used and function properly, from escalators, lifts, toilets, fire extinguishers (APAR) to fire alarm systems and CCTV can also be used to ensure security inside. Station.
"A few days later, we continued with the inspection of Minimum Service Standards (SPM) by the Directorate of Railway Traffic and Transportation in accordance with the mandate of the Minister of Transportation Regulation Number PM 68 of 2019 concerning Minimum Service Standards with good inspection results," he said.
Matraman Station FacilitationRode also said that Matraman Station is equipped with other facilities, such as a service room for left behind, lactation rooms, health posts, prayer rooms, facilities for disabled users and adequate parking areas.
"Matraman Station is in a very strategic location, located between the Manggarai and Jatinegara Transit Stations. So that later we hope that the presence of Matraman Station can facilitate the accessibility of the surrounding area community who previously had to go to Manggarai or Jatinegara Stations to be able to use KRL, now people can go directly to the station. Matraman to travel by KRL," he said.
With its strategic location, said Rode, Matraman Station has the potential to increase mobility and accessibility, especially for KRL users around the Matraman, Kampung Melayu, Jatinegara and Manggarai areas.
Access to Matraman Station is directly connected to Jalan Raya Matraman which is integrated with the Transjakarta bus stop corridor 5.
"As a new station, of course we will carry out intensive monitoring to minimize problems that arise, the access to passenger transfers in the station that we provide from stairs, lifts and escalators will always be our concern, for that we strive for all facilities in the station. can function properly and can be used optimally, "he said.
