The Construction Of The Taman Sriwedari Mosque Is Under Budget, Gibran Has Not Given Certainty About The Option To Use The APBD

JAKARTA - Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka responded to the lack of budget for the construction of the Taman Sriwedari Surakarta Mosque (MTSS) which resulted in the construction of the mosque not yet running.

"Yes, later on as we go," he said in Solo, Central Java, Antara, Tuesday, June 14.

Regarding the option of using the regional revenue and expenditure budget (APBD), he did not want to respond. "Yeah, we'll talk later, okay. Don't worry," he said.

Instead of focusing on the budget to continue the construction of the mosque on Jalan Slamet Riyadi, Solo City, for now he will focus more on legal settlement of the land used to build the mosque.

"I will oversee the legal affairs first," he said.

However, he is still reluctant to explain what steps will be taken regarding the settlement of land disputes in Sriwedari between the Surakarta City Government and Wiryodiningrat's heirs.

Previously, the Surakarta City DPRD would examine the possibility of using the APBD to support the construction of the MTSS in line with the funding constraints faced by the Surakarta City Government.

The chairman of the Surakarta City DPRD, Budi Prasetyo, said he would look at the regulations first.

"If it is possible, of course we will support the discussion of the APBD," he said.

So far, the funds used for the construction of the mosque amounting to Rp. 165 billion have come from corporate social responsibility programs and community donations. Due to lack of funds, construction was stopped two years ago.
