David Fincher Discontinues The Netflix Series, Mindhunter
JAKARTA - Director David Fincher said there was no third season for Mindhunter. Several factors are the reasons why Fincher did not continue the story of this series.
Previously, Mindhunter players such as Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, and Anna Torv released their contracts because the new season's 'hilal' had not been seen.
The news was further clarified by Fincher's statement to Vulture on 23 October. "I thought, yes," replied Fincher when asked if Mindhunter was done.
“For the audience, this is an expensive series. We talked about finishing the process of filming Mank and saw your reactions. But I think we can't continue the story other than stopping in the second season, ”he said as quoted by Vulture, Monday, October 26.
Not mentioning numbers, Fincher said it took a lot of budget to work on the Mindhunter series. In addition, the time needed to shoot was around 6-7 months over three years.
Mindhunter is a television series adapted from the book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit. This series tells the story of FBI agents who conduct interviews with a number of serial killers to help solve cases.
The first and second mindhunters can be watched via Netflix.
