To Prevent Identity Politics In The 2024 Election, Police Collaborate With KPU Until Political Parties Form Task Forces
JAKARTA - The National Police are preparing efforts to prevent identity politics during the 2024 simultaneous general elections (Pemilu). One of them is by forming a task force (satgas).
"Preparing task forces to provide dignified socialization, education and campaign literacy, maintain ethics, tolerance, religious moderation and maintain unity," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo when confirmed, Tuesday, June 14.
Later, the task force will not only consist of police personnel. However, related parties such as the General Recovery Commission (KPU) and the General Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu).
In fact, all political parties participating in the simultaneous elections will also be involved.
In addition, there will also be a group discussion forum (FGD). So, it can educate the public and maintain unity during the election.
"Together with Kominfo and social media activists to socialize and campaign for religious moderation, tolerance and maintaining diversity," said Dedi.
Not to forget, there will be periodic cyber patrols. Thus, identity politics efforts that often occur on social media can be prevented.
"Gakkum is an ultimum remedium so that cases of hoaxes, hate speech, and others do not occur repeatedly and massively," said Dedi.
