From Remote To Remote So Kendari Is Bright, The City Government Targets The Installation Of 2,000 Street Lights

KENDARI - The Kendari City Government, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) through the 'Kendari Terang' program targets the installation of as many as 2,000 street light points covering the entire 'pitch-dark' area

The head of the Kendari City Transportation Service, La Ode Abdul Manas Salihin, said this program would cover all areas, from remote areas to areas where the population continues to grow.

"So, like in Amohali, it is to help our brothers and sisters, farmers, so they can increase their productivity in the future and several other urban areas that really need lighting," he said in Kendari, Antara, Monday, June 13.

He explained that there are around 50 mercury lamps available at the Transportation Service, but there are no LED lamps. According to the plan, the "Kendari Terang" program will run until 2023.

"We are targeting that this year approximately 2,000 lamps can be installed and so far we have installed 6,100 lamps," he said.

Abdul Manas Salihin said that the process of requesting the installation of street lighting lamps was not difficult, because the community only had to apply for the installation of lamps through the RT/RW and also the Lurah, and then to the Transportation Service.

"What is certain is that as long as the people who apply are domiciled in the Kendari City area, they will certainly be served," he said.
