Residents Complained Because Of Traffic Jams, Sub-dept. Of Transportation Officers Ordered Illegal Parking At Tebet Eco Park

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Transportation Agency has deployed 50 personnel to control illegal parking at Tebet Eco Park because it disrupts the flow of vehicle traffic.

Head of Operation Control Section of the South Jakarta Transportation Agency, Made Joni, said that his party had carried out towing four-wheeled vehicles and Operation Removing Pentil (OCP) for illegally parked two-wheeled vehicles.

"Yesterday, eight cars were illegally parked and hundreds of motorbikes were towed," said Made Joni, quoted by Antara, Monday, June 13.

According to Made Joni, the Sub-Department of Transportation has carried out socialization through social media regarding parking bags.

There are also parking pockets that have been provided in 10 locations with a capacity that can accommodate 450 cars and 1,800 motorbikes.

The location of the parking bags is at SMP 73, SD Muhammadiyah, Harum Tebet Flats and Basketball Court, Social Institutions, TPS, Kopi Nako and the nearest gas station.

South Jakarta Dishub Tribal officers have also put up banners at six locations around the Tebet Eco Park. However, the overwhelming enthusiasm of the people made the government have to add parking pockets.

"We have socialized, through social media the Transportation Agency and the Mayor are there. The parking bags have also been informed," said Made Joni.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, assessed that there are individuals who take advantage of the Tebet Eco Park, which is now visited by many residents, so many have set up illegal parking lots.

"In such an atmosphere, other people may take advantage of it. One of them is using illegal parking. For that, the relevant agencies will handle it," said Riza.

Riza promised to find a solution regarding the addition of official parking pockets around the park area.
