The National Police Prepares Technical Steps Regarding PK Problems From The Ethics Session Of AKBP Brotoseno

JAKARTA - The National Police will prepare technical steps regarding the review (PK) of the trial results of the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) AKBP Raden Brotoseno.

In the KKEP trial, it was decided that AKBP Raden Brotoseno was maintained as a member of the National Police even though he had been a recidivist in a corruption case.

"The Head of the Propam Division has prepared the technical steps," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo when confirmed, Monday, June 13.

However, it is not clearly explained the form of the technical step in question. Dedi only emphasized that this matter would only be prepared after the revision process of the two National Police Chief Regulations (Perkap) was completed.

The two Perkaps include, among others, Number 14 of 2011 concerning the Professional Code of Ethics of the Indonesian National Police and Perkap Number 19 of 2012 concerning the Organizational Structure and Work Procedure of the Commission on the Code of Ethics of the Indonesian National Police.

The goal is to provide space to take certain steps towards ethical court decisions that are considered to have injured the sense of justice.

"As soon as possible the revision of the Perkap will be completed," said Dedi.

Previously, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that he would review the decision of the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) trial which did not fire AKBP Raden Brotoseno.

"I, as the National Police Chief, ask for a reconsideration or conduct a judicial review of the AKBP Brotoseno's decision," said Listyo Sigit.

Brotoseno is a member of the National Police with the rank of Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police (AKBP). He had served in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

In the course of his career, Brotoseno stumbled upon a corruption case in rice field printing in Ketapang, West Kalimantan.

Based on the results of the trial at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) at the Central Jakarta District Court in decision number 26 of 2017, Raden Brotoseno was found guilty and sentenced to 5 years in prison and a fine of IDR 300 million.
