The Independent Campus Policy Is Assessed To Give Students New Insights

JAKARTA - Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Open University (UT) FHISIP Hendrikus Ivoni Bambang Prasetyo SSos MSi said the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) policy provides new insights for students.

“So far, students have only been involved in their respective study programs. However, since the leadership of Mas Minister (Mendikbudristek Nadiem Anwar Makarim), students have been given independence," said Hendrikus in a speech related to the implementation of MBKM at UT in South Tangerang, Banten, Monday, June 13. With this policy, he said, students were given the freedom to study. within the study program as well as outside the study program and even outside the campus. The program can be followed by UT undergraduate students.

"This program provides students with experiences and new insights," he said as quoted by Antara.

Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs at the UT Faculty of Economics Kurnia Endah Riana SE MCom said students need to be equipped with study program skills first and then follow MBKM. “This MBKM is designed for fifth, sixth or seventh semester students. In this semester, students can take part in the Merdeka Campus program, where students are equipped with the skills in the study program," he said.

Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Faculty of Science and Technology UT Dr Ernik Yuliana SPi MT said students who took MBKM would be recognized by converting grades.

"That value will be listed on the transcript. So don't worry, friends who are participating in MBKM,” said Ernik. Ernik encouraged students who were already in their fifth semester and above to join the MBKM program. "The program gives students the flexibility to pursue their favorite field," he said.
