Liverpool Reach Transfer Agreement Worth IDR 1.5 Trillion With Benfica, Darwin Nunez Just Undergoes Medical Test
JAKARTA - Benfica striker Darwin Nunez is just one step away from being part of Liverpool. This was confirmed after his old club reached an agreement with the Reds about the selling price of the player.
With the agreement that has occurred, Nunez only needs to undergo a medical test in order to become part of the full Anfield population.
Through its official website, Benfica has released a statement that an agreement with Liverpool has been reached.
The club also stated that the fee they charge for Liverpool is around 75 million euros, or Rp. 1.1 trillion, but does not include other bonuses.
"In the early hours of Monday morning, Sport Lisboa e Benfica Futebol SAD notified the Securities Market Commission that it has reached an agreement with Liverpool FC for the sale of all rights to the player Darwin Nunez for 75 million euros," the club said in a statement on their website.
"The agreement provides for variable remuneration payments, so that the total sales amount can reach 100 million euros (equivalent to Rp. 1.5 trillion)," the statement continued.
Benfica said the agreement was contingent on Nunez signing a work contract with Liverpool.
At his new club later, Nunez reportedly gets a work contract for the next five years or around 2028. Although an agreement has been reached, Nunez still has to do a medical test before becoming part of the Reds squad.
To undergo the final test, Nunez himself had left the Uruguay national team's training camp to fly to Almeria with his agent. The 22-year-old is set to arrive in Liverpool this Monday to undergo a medical and complete his move.
If inaugurated, Nunez will become Liverpool's most expensive player, beating Virgil van Dijk's £75 million record in 2018. Nunez's presence in the Liverpool squad is expected to sharpen the attack line as well as replace Sadio Mane.
