Ciliwung River Overflows, 16 RT In South Jakarta Was Inundated By Floods
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that 16 neighborhood units (RT) in the South Jakarta area were flooded with various heights ranging from 30 to 71 centimeters (cm).
Based on data from the Data and Information Center (Pusdatin) BPBD DKI Jakarta, the areas that were flooded were in Pejaten Timur Village, Kebon Baru Village, Rawajati Village, Manggarai Village, Pengadegan Village, and Bintar Village.
All of these areas are areas that are traversed by the Ciliwung River.
For floods in Pejaten Timur Village, 10-30 cm inundation occurred in one RT, then 71-150 cm in height in three RTs.
Next, in Rawajati Village, a height of 10-30 cm soaked two RTs, then 31-70 cm in height immersed three RTs.
In Kelurahan Pengadegan, water levels of 10-30 cm submerge one RT. Furthermore, in Kelurahan Mangarai, water levels of 10-30 cm are in one RT and a height of 31-70 cm is in three RTs. Finally, in Bintaro Village, water levels of 10-30 cm occurred in one RT.
Manggarai Urban Village Head Budi Santoso, when contacted, said that the water began to rise and inundate the RT 09 and 010 areas in RW 01 at 03.00 WIB.
"The water is due to the overflow of the Ciliwung River," he said as quoted by Antara, Sunday, October 25.
According to Budi, water only submerged residential roads and the front of residents 'houses, there were no reports of water entering residents' houses.
Sunday morning at 10.07 WIB, the water was gradually receding, it is expected to dry out at 12.00 WIB. "In one hour it's dry, the water recedes quickly," said Budi.
The water also gradually receded in Kebun Baru Village, Tebet District, South Jakarta.
According to the Head of Kebun Baru, Fadhila, there are two inundation points in the area, namely RT 08 and RT 010 in RW 10, Jalan Perintis Ujung.
"Until 10.15 WIB, the water level is 10 cm, the rest of the puddle is still in RT 10," said Fadhila.
He said that now the Kebun Baru Urban Village Public Infrastructure Handling Officer (PPSU) has started cleaning up rubbish at the site, urging residents to be aware of the potential for further flooding.
"We are also coordinating with RT and RW administrators to urge residents to evacuate in case of flooding at any time," he said.
