Suspected Of Having Polluted The Environment, PT Raja Marga's Oil Mill Permit Was Frozen
JAKARTA - The permit of PT Raja Marga, a palm oil factory (PMKS) in Alue Rambot Village, Darul Makmur District, Nagan Raya, Aceh is frozen. This is because the company is suspected of polluting the local environment.
On October 7, the Nagan Raya Regency Government also took action in the form of freezing the environmental permit to PT Kharisma Iskandar Muda. This freezing is also related to allegations of environmental pollution and suspected problematic waste management.
"The suspension of PT Raja Marga's operational permit is based on public reports regarding allegations of environmental pollution due to factory waste," Head of the Environment and Sanitation Office (DLHK) of Nagan Raya Regency Teuku Hidayat told reporters, reported by Antara, Saturday, October 24.
According to him, the decision to suspend the permit to PT Raja Marga was based on the Decree of the Nagan Raya Regent Number: 267 / kpts / 2020 dated 19 October 2020.
He also emphasized that the application of the administrative sanctions also resulted in production activities and activities within the company that must also be stopped, until all the company's obligations to make improvements and improvements are fulfilled.
Meanwhile, the General Manager of PT Raja Marga Said Mustajab agrees that the company he leads has had its operational permit suspended by the Nagan Raya Regency Government.
"As a company engaged in the processing of palm oil, PT Raja Marga obeys the law and is ready to carry out the findings of the Nagan Raya District Government's Environmental Service, especially regarding allegations of environmental pollution," Said Mustajab.
With regard to these findings, the company management is trying to immediately make improvements and improvements, so that the administrative sanctions that have been stipulated, so that they are immediately reviewed by the local government.
He also emphasized that as long as the company's operations are stopped, the management of PT Raja Marga will still pay employee salaries without any deductions.
"The suspension of the company's operational permits is not the fault of the workers, but due to management negligence," he said.
