Azerbaijan F1 GP: Again Failed To Finish Race, Charles Leclerc More Than Frustrated

JAKARTA - The Ferrari driver, Charles Leclerc, was devastated by the results of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix at the Baku Circuit, Sunday, June 12. In that race, Leclerc failed to finish due to engine failure.

In fact, Leclerc started the race from pole position. However, disaster came on lap 20 when he had to enter the pits and end the race.

This is the second time Leclerc has failed to finish the race in the last three series. Previously he also did not finish during the race at the Catalunya Circuit, Barcelona, Spain.

"I'm more than frustrated, obviously," said the Ferrari driver, as quoted from the official Formula 1 website. "We were leading the race, I managed the tires well, we just had to manage the tires and race to the end, which I think is… we are in in the best position to do so."

"Another DNF, it hurts. We really need to see that so it doesn't happen again."

In this race, it was not only Leclerc who failed to finish. His teammate, Carlos Sainz, also suffered a similar fate. In fact, the Spaniard had to end the race on the seventh lap.

Just like Leclerc, Sainz also felt very frustrated with what his team experienced in the F1 Azerbaijan GP race this season.

"Obviously it's a big day for Ferrari, a tough day for all of us, but we are a team, we're going through different moments this year," he said.

"This is probably one of the most difficult and frustrating ones, but we will try and make sure we recover."
