Attending The 2022 Bali Arts Festival, Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno: Hopefully It Can Restore Tourism And The Creative Economy

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said the 2022 Bali Arts Festival was able to restore the tourism and creative economy sectors on the Island of the Gods affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"This really moves the economy, revitalizes and restores the tourism sector, especially the creative economy," said Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno while attending the opening parade for the 2022 Bali Arts Festival (PK) in Denpasar City, as reported by Antara, Sunday 12 June.

He said cultural arts activities such as the 2022 Bali PK can trigger the acceleration of the recovery of the tourism sector, therefore his party strongly supports the implementation of the activity which this year takes the theme "Danu Kerthi: Huluning Amreta" which is interpreted as glorifying water as a source of life.

"On behalf of the central government, we really appreciate the Bali Arts Festival after two years of the pandemic, we see that the enthusiasm of the community is extraordinary," he said.

Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno said that his party was also grateful for the support from all parties or especially the local government and all pentahelix involved in the implementation of PK-Bali.

"I am very proud and hopefully this can open up business opportunities and accelerate employment, which yesterday had contracted due to the pandemic," he said.

He added that the government also gave priority to the nobility and preservation of customs and culture in Bali and Indonesia. "We maintain nobility and with this Arts Festival, hopefully we can continue to socialize and be well educated," said Sandiaga Uno.

The 44th PK-Bali in 2022 will last for a full month from June 12 to July 10 2022, involving as many as 16,150 artists and 200 studios, sekaa or groups, and the art community. Not only filled with artists from various regions in Bali, this Arts Festival was also followed by participation from outside the region, namely the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Papua, Batak, Lombok Sasak, and Betawi.

The annual PK-Bali agenda this time is also quite special, because there are two other traditional art agendas which are also held in conjunction with this Arts Festival. The two agendas are the Bali World Cultural Celebrations (BWCC) which will be held from 12-25 June 2022 and the Balinese Tradition Jantra from 20 June-6 July 2022.
