Tsinghua University Has A 5G Technology-Based COVID-19 Lab Car
JAKARTA - Tsinghua University and Beijing CapitalBio Technology Co Ltd are developing a laboratory car based on the 5G communication network system. This mobile lab can overcome the long queues of people who want to test for COVID-19.
The research team from Tsinghua and Beijing CapitalBio called the car a mobile COVID-19 laboratory.
The laboratory can analyze nucleic acid samples on the spot quickly so that people can already know the results within 45 minutes, faster than similar laboratories that exist before.
Prof Cheng Jing, head of research at Tsinghua, said that the mobile laboratory is equipped with a robot that can test samples taken from the throat, a virus non-activator, and an automatic microfluid detection chip.
"The 5G-based communication network system also helps speed up test results," said Prof. Cheng as quoted by VOI, Saturday, October 24.
These facilities are able to perform the test three times faster, resulting in a lower risk of becoming infected with the virus compared to conventional sample testing methods. The 5G-based communication network system also helps speed up test results.
