Anwar Abbas Asks The Owner Of The 'Babiambo' Restaurant To Be Dragged To Court, Abu Janda: Life Is Very Complicated, Elon Musk Has Taken Care Of Mars
JAKARTA - Social media activist Permadi Arya alias Abu widow opened up about his criticism of a restaurant in the Kelapa Gading area 'Babiambo' which sells Padang cuisine using pork (Nonhalal).
According to him, dragging the owner of the restaurant into the realm of law until the court is actually a funny act.
"It's getting crowded, guys.. just because of selling pork rendang using the name "babiambo", making a fuss about bringing SARA to the police, going to court, everything is so complicated, isn't it wong wong iki?," said Abu Janda on his Instagram page, @permadiaktivis2 reported Friday, June 10.
Abu Janda couldn't understand why so much energy had been expended to take care of something like this. While other countries are busy making noise about space stations, the Indonesian public is the opposite.
"Elon Musk has taken care of Mars, China has taken care of the space station, Indonesia is still taking care of pork rendang, do you understand why this nation was colonized for 350 years?" explained Abu Janda.
Previously, Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Anwar Abbas asked the police to follow up a legal examination of the owner of the Nasi Padang Babiambo restaurant who sold pork in Kelapa Gading by bringing him to court.
"I ask the police to step down and resolve this issue as soon as possible and bring the person concerned to justice," Anwar said in his statement, Friday, June 10.
As a descendant of Minang, Anwar was very offended by the presence of the Nasi Padang Babi restaurant. According to him, this restaurant entrepreneur has undermined the customs and religious teachings that are respected by the Minang or Padang people.
"The restaurant entrepreneur has carried out a disgraceful practice in the form of harassment of the religious and cultural teachings of the Minang people themselves. It has clearly hurt our hearts as Minang or Padang people who respect their customs and religious teachings," he said.
According to information received, the restaurant, which serves a variety of Padang specialties made from pork, is located in Kelapa Gading Timur, North Jakarta.
The restaurant, named Babiambo, is currently busy on social media. The owner also promotes through an online delivery platform where various non-halal Minang dishes are clearly displayed, grilled pork rice, pork rendang rice, pork curry, Babiambo rice rames and other menus.
The DKI Provincial Government and the police are currently examining the Babiambo business owner for questioning. The owner of the business has also been taken to the Kelapa Gading Police Station, North Jakarta.
