Jokowi Orders Ministry Of Foreign Affairs And Indonesian Ambassador To Help Eril's Body Return To Indonesia
BOGOR - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ordered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indonesian Ambassador to Switzerland, Muliaman Hadad, to assist in the return of the body of Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz alias Eril, son of West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, who died in the Aare River, Bern, Switzerland.
"I have ordered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the ambassador to maximally assist the return of the body from Switzerland to Indonesia and we hope God willing, the repatriation of the body will be carried out soon," said the President in Rumpin, Bogor, West Java, quoted from Antara, Friday, June 10. .
The President had previously communicated with Ridwan Kamil and expressed his deep condolences for the death of Eril.
"Two days ago I communicated with Mr. Ridwan Kamil to express my deep condolences, Alhamdulillah, we have found it," said the President.
The Indonesian Ambassador to Switzerland Muliaman Hadad previously announced that the body of Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz had been found on Wednesday, June 8, local time, based on information from the Bern Canton Police.
Eril's body was found at around 06.50 am Swiss time or 11.50 am WIB, Wednesday 8 June. Information published by the Bern Police on Thursday stated that Eril's body was found by a man at the Engehalde Water Dam, Bern.
Ridwan Kamil has applied for permission to go abroad from 9 to 19 June 2022 after receiving news that Eril's body was found. Ridwan said Eril's body will arrive in Indonesia on Sunday 12 June, and the plan is to be buried on Monday 13 June.
Eril was declared missing while swimming in the Aare River, Bern, Switzerland, on Thursday, May 26, 2022. According to a local police statement, the 22-year-old youth experienced an emergency situation while swimming in the river.
