Minister Of Youth And Sports Regarding The 2021 SEA Games Medal Winner Bonus: Apologize To The Government Later
JAKARTA - A number of athletes who won the 2022 SEA Games medals have received bonuses. However, the bonus did not come from the central government, in this case the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora).
Some athletes who won the 2022 SEA Games medals received bonuses from the sports management or sponsors. There are some who get it from the local government.
One of them was e-sports athletes who received a total bonus of IDR 3.8 billion from PBESI. Then there is the East Java KONI which provides educational bonuses for their athletes.
Meanwhile, the Bandung City Government has also distributed bonuses to athletes on May 23 at the Bandung City Hall. Values vary.
Most recently, the organizers of wushu and kickboxing sports who gave bonuses of tens of millions to their athletes who won the 2021 SEA Games medals.
So when will the bonus from the central government or the Ministry of Youth and Sports go down? The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) said the bonus would definitely be given. However, it is time to adjust to President Joko Widodo.
"I apologize for the government lately. The President has given me directions to give medal winners, coaches, assistant coaches. But the time is adjusted to the President's time," said the Minister of Youth and Sports as quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The Minister of Youth and Sports also emphasized that the bonus amount will remain the same as the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines. This is also in accordance with President Jokowi's directives.
"Once again, I hope that the achievements will be better and will continue to rise again," said the Minister of Youth and Sports.
This was conveyed by Menpora Zainudin Amali while attending the Appreciation Night of the 31st SEA Games 2021 Vietnam Wushu and Kickboxing Sports at Wisma AKR, Kebun Jeruk, Jakarta, Thursday, June 9, evening.
On this occasion, the Golkar politician asked the Wushu sports officials to prepare early for the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia.
"We have to coordinate with Cambodia from now on, so that what we have previously complained about can be resolved later. Cambodia must be able to be lobbied from now on so that we won't be harmed," he said.
