Madura United On Holiday Due To Uncertainty In League 1, RD: Watch For Developments
JAKARTA - A number of League 1 clubs decided to cancel their training. The reason is, the implementation of the 2020 League 1 competition is still unclear.
Liga 1's newest club that chose to temporarily stop their training is Persebaya Surabaya. Coach Aji Santoso emphasized that training on Friday, October 23, 2020 would be the last before there was further information regarding the competition.
Apart from Persebaya Surabaya, Madura United also canceled training. However, coach Rahmad Darmawan only gave the players off for three days.
"We will take only three days off, but we will see how it develops. In the near future there will be a meeting," said the man who is familiarly called RD.
According to him, there is a possibility that the training holiday will be extended considering the continuation of the 2020 League 1 competition is still uncertain. However, the former Sriwijaya FC coach actually wants his team to keep training.
He wants his players to continue to hone themselves so that they are better prepared for the 2020 League 1 competition. "When the competition is on the road, they are ready for combat. No need to start over from scratch," he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Director of Madura United, Haruna Soemitro, asked the players to continue to pray that the competition would resume. According to him, competition is the livelihood of many people, including players and coaches.
"If this competition stops, it will be troublesome to find other livelihoods. Moreover, currently it is difficult to earn income. Remember, it is not only players who work," said the Madura United director.
