Monitoring Illegal Goods, Officials Hold Raids In Kapuas Hulu Directly Bordering Malaysia
KALBAR - The raid was carried out by a joint TNI-Polri team in the Indonesia-Malaysia border area, Batang Lupar District, Kapuas Hulu region, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan).
Bati Wamil 1206-03 Batang Lupar, Need Timur Edy, said the raid was an effort to prevent the entry of illegal goods and illegal workers.
"We anticipate the entry of illegal goods and illegal TKI at the time of changing border security (pamtas)," said Timur Edy after the raid, quoted from Antara, Thursday, June 9.
Timur Edy said that in the joint raid, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled drivers heading towards Putussibau City towards Badau or the border, as well as from the border towards Putussibau City were examined.
He said that during the raid, his party had not found any illegal goods or illegal migrant workers.
"We routinely carry out this activity after a few days ago it was also carried out, so far we have not found any illegal goods or illegal migrant workers, although we continue to tighten supervision," said Timur Edy.
Timur Edy said border officers from the TNI-Polri would not hesitate to take action in accordance with applicable regulations, if they found violations of the law or other criminal acts in border areas.
"To monitor the border, we also ask for the support of all parties to jointly guard and monitor the possible entry of illegal goods and other smugglers along the border area," he concluded.
