Hipmi: Prepare The Skilled Young Generation To Face The Demographic Bonus
JAKARTA - The Central Executive Board (BPP) of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) considers that the demographic bonus can be both profitable and disastrous for Indonesia. Chairman of BPP Hipmi Mardani H. Maming said this would happen if it did not prepare the younger generation to be skilled and ready to compete in facing the challenges ahead.
"The question is, are we ready to welcome the demographic bonus? We agree that in the next 10 years, young people will lead this country in the future," said Mardani H Maming, who was elected as Chairman of the Central Executive Board (BPP) Hipmi for the period of 2019-2022. at the HIPMI XVI National Conference in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 15.
In facing the demographic bonus, he continued, his party has prepared the Hipmi Goes to School program, Islamic boarding schools to campus.
"I have lobbied one of the Indonesian conglomerates, Kapal Api, we provide Hipmi Coffee Entrepreneurs with universities, we want Hipmi to be in schools and campuses in collaboration with companies," he said.
The Hipmi program, according to him, is one of the ways Hipmi tries to improve the quality of human resources for the younger generation. "This is the result of cooperation between BPP Hipmi and coffee producers who are directly mentors in that field. We start fertilizing from college," he said.
He said that the company will become a mentor to teach how to do business, from managing goods to managing accounting. "It is time for us to give practice to young people," he said.
That way, he believed, the number of entrepreneurs would increase in Indonesia if conglomerates stepped in to help. "Don't all rely on the government," said Maming in his opening remarks on the inauguration of the Head of BPP Hipmi with the theme "Improving the Quality of Young Entrepreneurs Human Resources in Welcoming the Era of the Demographic Bonus".
He added that he had also held talks with a national entrepreneur, Chairul Tanjung to support the Hipmi program. "I have also spoken with Pak CT, hopefully there is a Hipmi Mart, so that he will be mentored by him," he said.
