Says Canelo Doesn't Have The Guts To Dive Into MMA, Manager Kamaru Usman: He Has Become An Ordinary Man, His Mystique Is Gone
JAKARTA - Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez is still among the best cross-divisional boxers in history, despite his shock defeat to Dmitry Bivol. However, manager Kamaru Usman thought otherwise.
Ali Abdelaziz attacked Canelo by questioning the boxer's ability and courage to fight in MMA like Usman.
"Canelo has become an ordinary man. He has become one of them. It was the king of cross divisions (pound-for-pound) against the king of cross divisions but Canelo, the mystique is gone," Abdelaziz said on Menace Tube.
"I respect Canelo. I think he blew a big chance for her. The oddsmakers will probably make -800 against Kamaru but I think Kamaru has enough balls to box and we know Canelo will never have enough guts to come to MMA."
Abdelaziz also provided an update on the fitness of 'The Nigerian Nightmare'.
"kamaru is fine, he's recovering, he's resting," he said.
"The UFC has been great at giving him space and not putting pressure on him to fight," he said.
