3 Years Fugitive, Convicted Of Corruption In The Project For The Provision Of Fishing Tools And Equipment In Medan Arrested
JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office has arrested Boy Mf Tampubolon, who was convicted of corruption in the procurement of fishing equipment and tools at the Medan City Agriculture and Marine Service. He was arrested after holding fugitive status for 3 years.
"Boy was arrested on the Fold Kajang Atas street, Siatas Village, Simpang Kanan Subdistrict, Aceh Singkil Regency, Aceh Province, on Thursday, October 22," said the Head of the General Prosecutor's Office, Hari Setiyono in his statement, Friday, October 23.
Hari said, this convict was involved in a corruption case in the procurement of fishing facilities and equipment for the Medan City Agriculture and Maritime Affairs Office in 2014. This criminal act resulted in state losses amounting to Rp.492,781,650.
In addition, Boy assumed the status of a fugitive after the Supreme Court (MA) found him guilty. The decision is contained in letter number 417.K / PID.SUS / 2017, dated September 6, 2017.
In the letter, Boy was sentenced to 4 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million. Then, if you do not pay the fine, then it will be replaced by imprisonment for 6 months. Then, also have to pay replacement money in the amount of Rp.492,781,650.
"When summoned to carry out the judge's decision, the judge never fulfilled the summons of the prosecutor. Even though he had been summoned properly and therefore the convict was put on the wanted list (DPO) and declared a fugitive," said Hari.
After being arrested, Boy was immediately taken to the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office. Later, the Belawan District Prosecutor will delegate to serve the sentence.
"Taken to the Penitentiary (Lapas) to serve a prison sentence as decided by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia," said Hari.
