Bareskrim Pockets Prospective Suspects In Alleged Corruption Cases In Procurement Of Carts At The Ministry Of Trade
JAKARTA - The investigation into the alleged corruption in the procurement of carts at the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) for the 2018-2019 period continues. Bareskrim Polri has already pocketed potential suspects in this case.
"There are (prospective suspects, ed)," said Director of Corruption Crimes at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency Brigadier General Cahyono Wibowo to reporters, Wednesday, June 8.
However, Cahyono was reluctant to elaborate on the identity, including when he mentioned the structural level (echelon) of the suspect candidate.
He said in the near future Bareskrim would convey the progress of the alleged corruption case.
"In the near future (determination of suspects, ed)," he said.
Brigadier General Cahyono had said that during the investigation of this case, it was possible to ensnare officials at the Ministry of Trade.
Currently, the investigative team is still gathering evidence and instructions to identify suspects in the alleged corruption case.
"We'll see from the implementing level first, yes, the implementing level if possible can go up, we go up," said Cahyono.
Previously, the National Police's Criminal Investigation Unit investigated cases of alleged corruption in the cart procurement project at the Ministry of Trade in the 2018 to 2019 period. In fact, the status of this case has been raised to the level of investigation.
The investigation into the alleged corruption in the cart procurement project was based on two police reports (LP). It is suspected that there has been an inflation, both in terms of the quality of the carts and in terms of distribution.
