SAR Team Evacuation Crew And Passenger Helicopter Emergency Landing In Timika, One Missing Child Thrown From Heli
JAYAPURA - A joint SAR team was deployed to evacuate the crew and the unfortunate helicopter that reportedly made an emergency landing on a flight to Timika, Mimika Regency, Papua.
Heli Bell 412 SP with flight code PK-DAR belonging to PT Derazona Air Service made an emergency landing at position S 04 30' 12.54", E 137 16' 38.06".
Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri said from reports received the incident occurred at around 09.20 WIT.
The helicopter carrying nine people, including a pregnant woman, piloted by Captain Benny Rusmanto and co-pilot Captain Rony Zulkarnain took off from Jila at around 08.53 WIT, but suddenly the weather was bad, so the helicopter tried to make an emergency landing.
Of the nine passengers, three of them were doctors and nurses and an FOO Unitrade.
A child is reported missing and is still being searched, having been thrown out of a helicopter.
"The joint SAR team is still trying to evacuate the victims to Timika," said Police Chief Inspector General Fakhiri, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, June 8.
