Good News For Farmers In Karawang, Regency Government Implements A Policy For Reducing PBB Payments For Rice Fields

KARAWANG - The government of Karawang Regency, West Java has implemented a policy of reducing PBB payments by 100 percent for special rice fields tax objects belonging to farmers with Karawang ID cards.

"There are terms and conditions for farmers who want to get a reduction in the PBB payment," said Acting Head of the local Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) Asep Aang Rahmatullah in Karawang, Antara, Wednesday, June 8.

He conveyed that the rice field tax exemption was given to farmers in Karawang who have rice fields with an area of less than 1 hectare with an NJOP of IDR 27,000 to IDR 82,000.

"A request for a reduction in PBB is submitted in writing by the taxpayer," he said.

According to him, the 100 percent reduction in PBB is implemented in accordance with Regional Regulation Number 13 of 2017 concerning the protection and empowerment of farmers and has been stipulated by Perbup Number 12 of 2022 concerning Reduction of PBB for rice field tax objects.

To be able to get free PBB of rice fields, taxpayers only need to have a Karawang KTP, include a photocopy of the current year's SPPT, bring a certificate or other proof of ownership of the land/land and include a letter of application for tax relief signed by the village head or lurah.

He said, if the taxpayer has died, then the management of tax exemption can be managed by the heirs of the taxpayer.

"When the application is complete, it can be submitted to the office of Bapenda Karawang," he said.
