KIB Agrees To Bring Candidates For President From External, But Golkar Still Nominates Airlangga

JAKARTA - The Golkar Party, PAN and PPP who are members of the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) have agreed to openly carry presidential candidates from the three external political parties in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

However, internally the Golkar Party itself will still nominate its general chairman, Airlangga Hartarto, as a presidential candidate in 2024. "The Golkar Party is still consistent with the decision of the 2019 National Conference. Pak Airlangga is a presidential candidate from the Golkar Party," said Golkar Party DPP chairman Ace. Hasan Syadzily, Tuesday, June 7th.

However, the chairman of the West Java Golkar DPD said the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) could not immediately discuss conclusions about who the presidential candidate was. Because according to him, the first thing that must be discussed is the framework of the winning strategy, then the vision, mission and platform championed by KIB in the 2024 General Election, and various national and global issues.

Ace said, in the context of the United Indonesia Coalition, Golkar together with PAN and PPP must discuss together with the political party leaders who are members of it. Because, said Ace, the discussion at KIB is like a book, there are many chapters in it until it is finally decided who the presidential candidate will be. discussion, there is a chapter before the conclusion," he said.

However, Ace said Golkar continues to push Airlangga's electability to be higher. And at the right time, KIB will decide who the presidential candidate will be. "At the same time, of course, the Golkar Party itself will definitely continue to push for Pak Airlangga's higher electability and we believe that in time we will immediately decide who the presidential candidate is," said Ace.
