Police Find TNT Explosives And Firearms In Asia Afrika Bandung

JAKARTA - Police found objects suspected of being explosives and a firearm complete with bullets in a building located on Jalan Asia Afrika, Bandung City, West Java.

Bandung Police Chief Kombes Aswin Sipayung said a number of dangerous items were found during the renovation of a building. Once found, residents reported it to the police.

"It was reported to us at 20.30 WIB at night. It was found by people who were going to renovate the house, they were going to clean it, it turned out that these (explosives and weapons, ed) were found," Aswin said at the location as reported by Antara, Monday, June 6.

According to him, the items found contained Trinitrotoluene (TNT) or melted explosives. In addition, there is also one firearm, which according to him is still being investigated.

"Then a number of live ammunition and firearms. We haven't counted it but it's quite a lot, the details haven't been counted," said Aswin.

He also confirmed that now the Gegana team from the West Java Police Mobile Brigade had been dispatched to secure the location of the discovery of the dangerous goods.

According to Aswin, the items will be taken by the Gegana team for safekeeping to the West Java Police Mobile Brigade Command Headquarters in Jatinangor, Sumedang Regency.

"This has been secured and will be taken to the Mobile Brigade Headquarters in Cikeruh (Jatinangor) and the plan will be disposal at the headquarters," said Aswin.
