A Mass Of Workers Wants To Meet With The Palace, The Police Try To Facilitate It

JAKARTA - The masses from the labor union who were protesting against the Omnibus Law on the Job Creation Law asked to meet with representatives of the Palace to voice their aspirations. The police tried to facilitate by coordinating with the Palace.

"They said that they could meet with the palace. We will continue," said Central Jakarta Mertro Police Chief, Kombes Heru Novianto to reporters, Thursday, October 22.

If the request is approved, several representatives of the demonstrators will be met with representatives from the Palace. That way, the aspirations of the masses can be conveyed regarding the Job Creation Law.

"If from the palace if ready to fulfill we will facilitate to meet at the (State Palace)," he said.

Currently, the demonstrators have started arriving at the area of the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue. It is estimated that the mass that has gathered reached more than a thousand people.

"Meanwhile, workers currently estimate that there are 1,500 of them, but from the emission, there is a possibility that there will be more because some are still on their way," Heru said.

Based on the data, the demonstration masses came from outside Jakarta. Most of them are from Tangerang and Banten.

"The workers who delivered the letter to us were from Kasbi, the joint LEM was from North Jakarta, Banten, Tangerang, they were combined," he said.

Demonstrations against the Omnibus Law of the Job Creation Law were carried out by the Federation of Electronic Metal Workers and Machinery Workers Unions throughout Indonesia (FSP LEM SPSI). In addition, there were also masses of students.
