TNI AL Holds Exercise To Maintain Coastal Defense In Tanjungpinang

JAKARTA - The TNI AL IV/Tanjungpinang Main Base held a coastal defense operation exercise for four days at the TNI AL IV/Tanjungpinang Main Base Command Headquarters, Riau Islands.

The activity involved a Battalion of TNI AL IV/Tanjungpinang Main Base Personnel, a Marine Battalion for Defense of the AL IV/Tanjungpinang Main Base Personnel, an Air Defense Artiheli Batterie and a Company of Marine Battalion Headquarters for the Indonesian Navy's Main Base IV/Tanjungpinang.

"This exercise aims to increase the capability and professionalism of Indonesian Navy soldiers in the field of Coastal Defense Operations," said the Commander of the Indonesian Navy IV/Tanjungpinang Main Base, TNI First Admiral Kemas M Ikhwan Madani, while leading the opening ceremony of the 2022 Coast Defense Operations Exercise at the Command Headquarters Apple Field. According to him, this exercise is also to match the mindset, attitude pattern and action pattern as well as to test doctrine in the implementation of maritime security operations. The practice will be held until Thursday 9 June.

In addition to aiming to prepare for enemy forces, he said, this activity is an effort by the Indonesian Navy to prepare personnel and material forces as well as the readiness of defense equipment owned by the Indonesian Navy IV/Tanjungpinang Main Base.

He emphasized that the participants should explore the training plan to understand the functions and duties of each actor and pay attention to the safety of the exercise by following all the procedures that have been set and carrying out the stages of the exercise seriously.

"We will evaluate the exercise to find out to what extent this activity can contribute to increasing the capability of the TNI AL IV/Tanjungpinang Main Base," he said.
